Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He defended four early-game break points in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
